About Stephen Busby

Stephen Thomas Busby PhD, born June 10, 1949, was deserted by his father and lived with a loving family while his mother prepared a secure home.  Living in Toppenish, WA on the Yakima Indian Reservation proved to be a priceless learning environment.  It was the base of Stephen’s athletic achievements and college academic preparation. It prepared him as well to become a college diver and martial artist.  Seeing domestic violence inspired Stephen to become a 4 time National Karate Champion so he could protect himself and others from physical harm.  Early expectations groomed Stephen to be a kind, considerate, sensitive, talented, competitive, meticulous, and relentless worker.  “Treat people the way you want to be treated,” were words from his grandfather.

As he views his years of education from “the street”, books, and experiences he is grateful. 25 years as a college professor teaching teachers how to teach, plus 28 years choosing to mentor the most Highly At Risk students in public school, and coaching since he was 16 years of age ALL combine to bring answers to those who choose him.

It is the Busby Now time in your life.
